Help with ports

My Siemens router has the following fields for configuring special applications....

Trigger port, trigger type (TCP or UDP), public port, public port type (TCP or UDP), enabled/disabled check box.

The sites I find regarding opening ports give infor mation like this:

OUT UDP 6899
IN UDP 6899

or

OUT TCP 1720
IN UDP 1024 65534

I can figure out the enable check box and TCP or UDP but where does the other data go?
