My PNY/MSI GF4 Ti4600 card that I traded someone for has crapped out on me(worked fine for about a month). At first...it just started pixelizing games, and when I close the game it self, the computer crashes. Then my computer doesn't even boot up at all. I thought there was somehing wrong with the computer, but it works fine with any other video card in it. I tried reinstalling the driver, but nothing. I tried reinstalling it a few different times, but it comes up all messed up looking then crashes. Then it doesn't even boot up again. I'm reading about the PNY's RMA process and it says that I need a RECEIPT? :( Needless to say...I don't have one since I traded someone for it. It was new when I got it though. I just called them and left a message. Has anyone dealt with them before? This is an OEM PNY/MSI card. It has a PNY label, and fan on it, but came with MSI software and manual. I heard that PNY has a better service and warranty, so I'd much rather deal with them. Do I need to get a receipt or can I just say that I got it as a gift or something? Any suggestions? How long does the RMA process take? I would hate to go too long with this crappy 32MB ATi Rage inside my computer. :( I might just go out and buy that Ti4200 from BB, and sell this card when I get it back.

Is it possible that my Dell Dimension 4400 just doesn't have enough power to run this card??? I hope not. :(

uh oh....Houston...we have a problem! :(
According to the PNY FAQ section:
"Question
Why did my Graphics Card arrive in a white box?

Answer
The PNY Verto-brand graphics cards shipped in white-boxes (generic packaging) are identical to retail-packaged graphics cards. They both contain a lifetime replacement warranty. However, white-boxed cards must be returned to the vendor from whom they were originally purchased ? they can not be returned to PNY. Only retail-packaged cards can be sent to PNY for a replacement."

I don't even know where this guy bought this! Anyone successfully RMA a "white box" version to PNY directly??

PNY's warranty page says the warranty is only good to the original purchaser. So either way, you're out of luck.

From their site:

PNY Technologies, Inc. ("PNY"), manufacturer of your newly purchased PNY graphics card (the "product"), warrants the product to be free from defects in materials and workmanship for the life of the product as sold to the original purchaser ("purchaser"), subject to all the terms and conditions hereunder. This warranty is not assignable.

So when you trade with someone on the FS/T forum...and they mention PNY's lifetime warranty...it doesn't even matter? I find this hard to swallow. Someone MUST have experience with this.

Unless you are the original purchaser, no, it doesn't matter. Only the one that bought has the right to a warranty claim. I'm no lawyer, but that's how it looks to me. Sorry. :(

Don't worry. I also traded for a Ti4400 on this board, and it started screwing up. So, I e-mailed PNY saying that, when I boot up my computer, I get a bunch of green lines, blah blah blah. Then, they e-mailed me back saying that they couldnt give out RMA #'s through e-mail, and they said to call them. So, I called, got put on hold for a half an hour, talked to a guy which was really nice by the way. I said "Hi, I was told by your e-mail tech support that I should call you up and get an RMA # for my Ti4400. He said okay, then asked what the problem was, I said "When I boot up the computer I get a bunch of green lines then..." then he inturrupted me saying "Okay thats all I need". He gave me my RMA # and the address to mail it to. I mailed it last week Tuesday. I called them up today asking what the status was, and she said that they recieved it on friday and shipped a new one on sunday. So I should be getting a new card soon.
