Hi everybody, just bought the Plexwriter 40/12/40A, but it's just a bare drive. It reads fine, except when I try to write on Nero, Nero doesn't seem to detect the drive right. (i have a cracked copy of nero, so i can't autodetect)

I've never really burned any CD's before (i have a 120gb hard drive, so i don't really need to save anything off of it), and i'm just trying to make a couple audio CD's right now. In Nero when i make an audio compilation it asks to save the image file, and then it saves this CD image onto a temp folder and it says it's done with the cd. when i go to burn the image file onto the CD it just asks where to place the CD image again.

Under Choose Recorder in Nero it just lists that I have a virtual drive available, and under extras-autodetect it says that my drive is unsupported. I've updated my plextor to the latest firmware, and I'm not sure what else to do, any tips?

Edit: Just burned a few files using Windows XP software... guess it's just my nero?

sounds like the copy of nero you're trying to use is too old to recognise the plextor!
what version is it?

like Andy said, your version was release on October 3rd, 2001, well before your plextor 40/12/40A was introduced!
