Help with Plextor 12/10/32A and KT7A RAID problem

I just installed the adaptec EZ CD creator and Direct CD software for my 12/10/32 and now neither the CDR or my Pioneer 105 16x DVD will run under windows. They both have error code 31 under the device manager saying the drivers could not be loaded. Both drives had been working fine until I installed this software (I had used the CDRW strictly as a CD reader for a few months, didn't have a need for the burning software). I've tried installing, and un-installing the VIA 4 in 1 4.29 IDE bus drivers, and tried uninstalling the drives from device manager with and without the VIA drivers. I've also tried using both drives as master. I've disabled UDMA on the channel the drives are on, as I've seen it causes trouble with other people's 10/12/32As.

Any ideas?

I tried every combination to get a Plextor 12x CDRW to work with a CD- ROM. Plextor told me that generic CD ROM's most of the time are not going to work well. I found that this cheapie CD ROM was not going to work at all. I tried doing this for a relative. We ended up taking the CD ROM out. Now he wants to add a ZIP drive and I am thinking about adding something like the ATA 100 card from Maxtor to get a seperate channel for each device to see if that makes a difference. My next M/B will have more than two IDE channels. I don't know much about raid M/Bs yet, but they are starting to make more sense.

Perhaps I will try using one of the RAID channels for the CDRom, DVD, or HD.
