Basically I want to setup a photo site like

http://www.macroday.com or like http://www.spunwithtears.com/thursday.html

i am willing to host the images for people, just a place for people to show off their work, but have it voted on and judged.....

Anyone know of a way to do this, or a php script, program that would do it? i cant seem to think of an easy way for ME to do it...

Any help appreciated, and possibly rewarded. ;-)

Those would be cool, if any of them still existed or if they actually did what I wanted. Some seem close, but not quite the idea I had. They seem more for like a "hot or not" type of site.

Seriously, there's no reason anyone would rather use your site.

Get of the Apple Crack Pipe, Fred. Your post made zero sense and had no relevance to his question. Flickr is not in the same market as what he's doing!

WTF does anything have to do with Apple?

There are a *TON* of photo sites on the internet where people can upload pictures, comment on them, etc.

Besides flickr, there's deviantart, photobucket, imageshack, and 10 million smaller ones out there. What's he going to do that hasn't already been done a dozen times?

He'd be better off using the flickr API to add rating capabilities to flickr.

That didn't stop you from making the crappy website in your sig, nor did it me. What does it matter? Maybe he doesn't want to go big time, just making it for some friends and himself. Maybe he just wants a project to work on, nothing serious. Maybe he has plans on world picture hosting domination, and plans to do it with pure charm and intellect, nothing the likes of flickr, deviantart, photobucket, imageshack, and the other 10 million smaller ones out there have ever seen.

Maybe......

He said he wanted it to be easy for him. Signing up on another site is pretty easy. He never said anything about wanting a project to work on. He'd save himself a lot of time and effort by using an existing solution.

Oh, and I made the site in my sig in 2001 -- well before flickr, photoshack, and imagebucket. I wouldn't do it again now, there are too many other sites doing the same thing, it would be a waste of effort.

Well, he never said anything about wanting to compete with the likes of flickr, etc. either. If you're trying to make your case that you aren't an ass, maybe you shouldn't act like one (like you did in your first post).

I dont want to compete with anyone, It is more for photo junkies to review each others stuff, to do a weekly "assignment" of sorts, for fun. No profit, no real winner when it comes to having the best photo.

Sort of a place to look at amatuer photographers and comment/critque, etc. I know tons of sites have done this already, but again I am not looking to compete with the big guys...
