I've had nothing but trouble with my earthlink DSL, and I wasn't sure why. They had me do a bunch of stupid tests and eventually we concluded that it was the phone line inside the house vs. outside. So now it's my problem, our phone line quality is shitty but I had an old cable for my old DSL(Was on a seperate line) and plugged that into the main line at the box, and then into the modem. It still is slow and goes down constantly. I tried it at the box w/ the regular "clip" connectors(vs. the wires being tied together) and it worked fine out there, very fast. I was wondering if it would help to run another phone wire from the box to my room. I want to be able to "clip" it if you know what i mean, so i want the connectors on the end...

Call the phone co out and have them run a dedicated line from the SNI to your computer.

That should take care of it.

Your point?

Either do it yourself if you have the tools/knowledge, or pay to have it done.

That is the proper solution.

The other advantage is you can filter your entire house with one microfilter placed outside the house as opposed to filtering all devices inside.

You don't have any unfiltered phones/faxes/modems on your line(s), do you?
