Help with PCmark2002 results

Hi all - new to the forums and tweaking systems here.

My pc mark results are here -

Any help with improving performance - especially in the RAM would be appreciated

BTW memory is RDRAM - computer is a gateway.

Do you have reasons to believe that number is low??? I think I get high 6000's but I am also running my ram at 450mhz ddr which scores higher then the best rdram stciks according to sandra. So I don't think you are off that much...maybe 3-5% improvement with timing adjustments and maybe that can't be attained since I notice the mobo is an intel motherboard and they are notorious for little options when it comes to tweaking....

Try with less sticks and maybe the score will rise. In the past I have seen multiple sticks causae the mobos to sometimes adjust timings on their own. Score are less with more...Go figure!!!

Does your gateway have any options for adjusting memory timings? BTW, your hdd performance is good, what hard drive do you have?

Yeah was just checking to see if it was at optimum performance and what tweaks ppl thought were good

As far as the HD - its a 200gig with 8mb cache - i think WD is the only ones that made it at the time(last december)

Yeah great price for one in fryes local add this week...comes out to be like 90 dollars after rebate...

Your scores are just about in line with what you should be getting. I wouldn't worry about it too much.
