I have a Thrustmaster Top Gun Fox 2 Pro Joystick I have been using for many years. I use it for Battlefield games primarily. Recently I noticed that the twist rudder only works marginally clockwise, counter-clockwise is fine. This makes it pretty useless for flying choppers.
I have been pretty happy with this stick, so it didn't take long to identify it's successor, the Thrustmaster T Flight Stick-X.
I browsed around a little more, and I see this slightly higher priced alternative, the Thrustmaster T-16000M Flight Stick. It's primary claim to fame is Hall Effect sensors, which are much more precise, and not prone to failures like potentiometers.
I can't decide which to purchase. Here's what I see as the pro's and con's of the more expensive option:

Or, should I take my current stick apart and try to fix the failing rudder with some tuner cleaner?

- Slightly better reviews overall
Cons:
- More expensive
- Ambidexterous design compromises ergonomics (I'm a rightie)
- Some Button locations harder to use without looking
