I am thinking you will want something that will plug the hole quickly, such as a fast calk gun or foam in a can. Something like hair spray can also help for any wasps that do happen to make it out. Wear long sleeves and maybe mosquito netting over you head and put the nest in a strong plastic garbage bag. Another thing is that wasps and bees do not like smoke. Find something that makes a lot of smoke and put it under their nest so the smoke wafts up into the nest. The lack of air causes them to lose their energy and become sleepy and docile.
I once had a huge nest growing on the side of my house (3rd story) and couldn't reach it so I took out the ole paintball gun (electro) and put about 5 rounds into the sucker in under a second.
No more wasps.
Black Flag > wasps. Get one with the long spray, so you don't have to get too close. Hose it until the nest foams over, if you stop too soon, they'll just get mad.
Wasp spray is awesome. It'll knock them to the ground on touch..and they won't get back up again, either. I picked up a 2pk for under 4 bucks at Lowes 🙂
