Help with overclocking

I'm new to overclocking so I want to make sure I get this right the first time. My setup is listed below, I'd like to run a 250 htt x 9 multiplier = 2250mhz with memory matched 1:1 @ 2.5-4-4-7 as the memory is listed at that at pc4000 speeds. If someone could tell me exactly what to change to what that'd be great. For some reason windows detects my memory @ 2-4-4-6 @ pc2700 normally wtf? Anyways any help would be great. I've checked the OC guide I think I need more help than that especially in the memory area, the proc I think I have figured out except for possibly the voltage (1.55 ish ?). Thanks in advance for any help.

A64 3000+ Winnie, CBBID stepping
MSI Neo4 Platinum SLI
Geil pc4000 ram 2.5-4-4-7 @ pc4000

It looks like you know what you want to run 9 x 250, and 1.55 should be the max vcore setting that will affect the actual vcore per CPUZ or Corecenter, and thats ok as long as your load temps don't get above 60c. You may can run 10 x 250 at 1.55?

The 1:1 setting on your board is 200, I think, and just set your timings manually to 2.5-4-4-7 and set vcore to spec. s/b 2.7-2.8?

With A64's onboard mem controller overclocking the ram often limits your CPU overclock. And regardless what your ram is rated when you run ram over 200mhz your overclocking the memory controller. With my 3200+ I can only run 1:1 up to 2450mhz ram @ 245mhz, but if I use the 166 divider I can run 289 x 9 = 2601mhz with ram @ 237mhz.

But every board and chip combo is different, so try different dividers and CPU multis to find your max CPU overclock. Never sacrifice CPU speed for ram speed on A64's because they are much more CPU bottlenecked. Basically when your overclocking your ram you are providing an extra resouce that the A64's can't utilize, but increases in CPU speed show a nice performance boost.
