I am not a noob to hardware and building systems, just a noob to overclocking. I have read through some of the overclocking articles, but still am just wondering where to start. You can see my system specs in my profile. I have tried a few overclocking techniques, and the fastest I have been able to get to is like maybe 10% over stock speed. I have a liquid cooled case, so I assume I should be able to get it faster them that. Any help is much appreciated.

Thanks

Look at the A8N-SLI threads in motherboards, they will help you on the settings side.

Decide what order you are going to overclock, there are lots of things tha you can adjust on the A64.

FSB
HTT Multiplier
RAM speed and settings
CPU Multiplier
Voltage

Be careful though because changing one can affect another. Also increase clock speed in small increments, test and repeat if desired. If it fails the tests then back it off a notch to give you your maximum stable overclock.

If you've got a 10% overclock then you're already off to a good start. That means you're running at 3800+ speeds. Lower the HTT multiplier to 4x and see how high you can get your FSB. I would also use a memory divider. Try lowering it to 166 (5:4) to keep it as close to DDR400 as possible and you might be able to hit 230FSB or more. Once you start failing Prime95 or can't boot Windows try adding some voltage to the CPU in small increments to go further. Good luck!
