I'm kinda new to overclocking, but I think my system isn't running at even close to its full capabilities
Here are my stats:

Athlon Xp 2600+
2x 256MB Corsair XMS PC3200CL2
Asus A7N8X Deluxe
GeForce DDR (My Radeon 9500np is on its way)
Thermalright SLK-800

Originally I was running the crappy (at least that's what I've heard) Asus A7N8X Deluxe BIOS verson 1001G. I was able to up my FSB to 185mhz with my memory settings stable at 4/2/2/2T (I tested them at default 166mhz before I overclocked to 185), but I had to up the voltage from 1.65v to the MAX of 1.85V.
Running normal programs like Microsoft word, my CPU temp is 34C. If I run intensive programs like UT2003 at HIGHEST settings, the temp goes up to 39C.

So, my problem is this:
If I try to go any higher than 185 mhzwith my FSB, my computer locks up a few minutes after I load Windows.

Last night I tried different versions of the A7N8X Deluxe Bios: 1001.002, 1001E, 1001C, but I still can't get past 185 (-1) mhz FSB. So right now I'm running at 184*12.5 or 2300mhz.

Shouldn't I be able to set my FSB to at LEAST 200mhz?

Anyone have any clue?

Any other tips for overclocking this particular system?

It would be much appreciated. thanks!

(PS If this doesn't work, I'm thinking to dowire trick some time soon)

Very few individuals that I know have been able to hit 200mhz on the FSB. I presume you are lowering the multipier when attempting the 200mhz FSB, otherwise your CPU is probably holding you back.

Good luck!

2300mhz gives you a PR3000 rating...not too shabby for a cpu that is only 2600.

Have you put Arctic Silver 3 under your northbridge heatsink yet? (in place of the stock thermal material, I mean) Could be worth a try, I know I would.
