I just got my new computer from cybers without a OS. I thought I can use the disc my uncle burned me(Windows Xp), but I couldn't get it to install in my new computer. I called Cybers and Asus customer support, but the steps they gave out didn't work.

How can I install it?

Thanks.

If you try to use the XP that your uncle burned for you, you will probably be out of luck, even if you do get it installed. Why? Because XP can only be activated on one computer.

Try posting some spec's about your system:

Also, you will need to set your BIOS to boot from the CD-ROM first. When your computer starts up, there will be directions for getting into your BIOS (usually you will hit TAB, DEL, F2, or something like that). Once in your BIOS look for the setting called boot order, first boot device, or something like that.

I did all the Boot option with Cybers and Asus's, which did not help, they did give me a "6 in 1 Driver" which I couldn't get it to work, maybe I need a real Windows disk from the store, but If anyone can help with my burned one please help me out with that.

Thanks.

I'm installing the exact same motherboard tonight. I installed fresh from WinXP Pro and I'm having some problems. I'm now going back and following the ASUS mobo manual and building the BIOS floppy to boot from and I'll see what happens. Any tips?

Thanks, Rob
