I was given an antique pc. It has an ASUS SP-97V motherboard, 200 mhz. I put in 64 megs of edo memory, windows 98S, and a 5 gig harddrive. I formatted the hd, and did a fresh install of the OS.

Here is my problem:

I have only 2 choices in true color: 2 0r 16 bit

Screen area, one choice: 640x480

Is there any way to improve the above choices?

Thank you for your help.

Enjoy the day,
Raymond

Ray, that thing has sis onboard video, and I have a disk with the right chipset around here somewhere. Alternatively, you can google the mobo and get the driver from sis's website.
Edit: chipset is an SIS 5598 drivers are in here.

Thanks for your help. The same day that I posted the request for help, I did various searches online, and downloaded the neccessary software, and still had the same problem. I disabled the onboard video, and installed an old 4mb video card, and that solved the problem.

Enjoy the day,
Raymond
