Help with old dot-matrix printer

Triumph

Lifer
I have an old dot matrix printer at work that I'm going to use to print onto labels (stickers). Only problem is if I want to print out one label, the thing still advances to the next page after printing, skipping a whole bunch of perfectly good labels in the process. So how do I get the printer to stop right after it prints?

You've got to get rid of the CR/LF at the end of the print command, and replace it with a command that moves the printhead to the next label on the sheet. Back in the days of DOS, there were programs that would easily do this - configure a printer and send it commands, using the printer's escape sequence and command set. The label manufacturers, like Avery, used to (and likely still do) distribute label printing programs that will do this for you - provided you can find a win9x driver for the old printer.

well, its hooked up to NT, and it has a driver loaded for it. i'll look around avery's website, maybe they have something (if they even have a website).

Why not print out all that you can, tear off the first used label, then start printing again. If everything is aligned right (which I dont know if it is or not) you will then print on the blank labels, then once you go through move another row down and keep doing that and eventually you will fill them all.

Other than that....... no idea 🙂
