I know very little about OCing, so any help would be appreciated.
I purchased a new P4P800 DX with a P4 2.4Ghz and 2 x 512m PC3200 Crucial CT6464Z40B
I tried the Asus Ai overclock tuner in the bios and set it to 20%, the system posted @ 2.9Ghz and the memory showed @ 400Mhz .... and was stable. I then set everything back to factory to load the system.
Yesterday the MB failed to post, so back to the dealer today for a replacement.
I tried the same OC [20%] on the new MB, but the memory is posting @ 266Mhz ?
If I set it back to factory the mem posts @ 400Mhz again.
What am I doing wrong ?
I flashed both MB to the latest bios 1009.
Also, could anyone recommend a site to learn how the Dram timing thing works in newbie details plz ....
