Help with Nvidia TNT and it crashing Games

Hi, I've recently had problems with my 'Nvidia TNT' video card crashing any full screen applications/games such as 'Age of Empires' or 'Counter-Strike.' Here is what happens:

Scenario:
I enter the game (using game as example because this is how I discovered problem), and I am allowed to spectate or watch someone else play or just sit there. Once I try doing something such as join or build something (Age of Empires), the game crashes with no error message or anything. Friend's of mine have told me that I need to unstall the new drivers ... which I did. They also tell me to install OpenGl which I did. Nothing worked. I got one of the games ot let me play for say ... 5 minutes but then it came up with an error or caused me to enter spectator because of the lag it was causing. This lag is basically me skipping around. I have cable and I get pings of 90MS and packetloss of around 0.0 and 0.1 with a split connection. I don't know what to do =(.

Here are the spec(s) on my PC:
450 mhZ P3 processor
384 MB of RAM
12.33 GB HD
52x CD-ROM
16x Burner
Floppy Drive
Nvidia TNT Video Card
NIC card
56k Modem

Some of those are irrelevant but I truthfully am puzzled by this. Any help is much appreciated. Thx

what OS are you using? Driver version? direct x version?

Can you play any games at all on your system (or in single player mode, eg not online)?
