Help with newly built computer :( (hard drive issues)

Can anyone please help me?

I just built my computer

I fdisked a primary dos partition
but when I try and format it, it doesnt move past 0%.

What am I doing wrong?

It knows the size and the type of drive.

What should I do?

You said it knows the size and type of drive, you could try setting it manually (Heads, cylinders,etc). Sometimes you need to go to the manufacturers website to get all of the info.

Does the drive spin up?

Do you have the jumpers set properly for master or slave?

Also keep in mind the end of the IDE cable furthest from the other 2 goes to the motherboard. The other end goes to master. The one in the middle goes to slave.
