Help with new WIN2000 install on VP6

I received my VP6 today along with a pair of IBM 30G ATA100 drives for a RAID 0 setup. I currently have a Win2K/Win98 dual boot setup(I had WIN98 first). I need some instruction on how to install the new drives and install a fresh WIN2000 OS? I'm not bothering with Win98 this time, as I have booted to it in months.
Here are some questions I hope some of you guys can answer for me:

On which IDE port do I install the 2 RAID drives? How about the CD Rom?

Should each Harddisk in the RAID config be on a different IDE channel? Does it hurt to piggyback a cdrom or other hard drive as a slave?

Will I have to do this booting off of the WIN2000 CD Rom? If so, at what step do I FDISK, and format the drives?

Will both 30G drives be listed only as drive C?

How do I get the Golden Orbs off my 694D? I haven't tried yet, but I heard it is hard, and prone to breakage.

Thanks! I'm afraid once I dismantle my system, I won't be able to log on and get help!

ok, i'm getting really spooked because i too got my vp-6 today and got it up and going with 2 ibm 30g ata100 drives. now to answer your questions (or at least tell you what i did)

On which IDE port do I install the 2 RAID drives? How about the CD Rom?

Install each drive on a seperate IDE port...the RAID ones obviously, IDE3 and IDE4 on a vp-6. Install the CD-rom to IDE 1.

Should each Harddisk in the RAID config be on a different IDE channel? Does it hurt to piggyback a cdrom or other hard drive as a slave?

yes, install each drive to a seperate IDE port. I wouldn't piggyback the cd-rom.

Will I have to do this booting off of the WIN2000 CD Rom? If so, at what step do I FDISK, and format the drives?

Check the manual for getting the RAID going....this is the first step. W2k will prompt you for formatting and partitioning the drives afterwards when you get into the actual w2k set-up.

Will both 30G drives be listed only as drive C?

yes

How do I get the Golden Orbs off my 694D? I haven't tried yet, but I heard it is hard, and prone to breakage.

it's a twisting action and i've never had a problem with it, just use common sense and you'll be fine.
