I am in the market for a new SSD and saw this on newegg:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc..._-20227706-L0A

the vertex 3 for 179 after rebate. Is this drive still having all the issues or has it been fixed? The reviews are mixed to say the least..

Or do I spring for the Intel 510 or 320.... or wait for the new samsung 830...

There are so many choices. I want something decent and reliable. Sata III in not critical, but wouldn't mind having it to go with a new build i am putting together.

Looking for advice.

Thanks.

Get the Crucial M4 128 GB it is around the same price, actually cheaper before mail in rebate, and you get more space.

I've used both Agility and Vertex, and an M4. I now own 2 M4's, and am throwing one in the kids computer too.

OCZ bsods and data loss pushed me away from them, and Crucial has been great. Just my experiences, though.

I just bought my 3rd SSD. And was going to go for a vertex but went with the Crucial M4 128GB because of the problems with OCZ drives.

I paid $185 shipped from Amazon for it. I'm glad I did as it's been 100% problem free so far.

I have 6x Kingston 96GB V100+ with 2 in RAID-0 and 2x Sandisk SF-1222 based 120GB drives running. I tried the Intel 510 drive and then returned it as I was able to get twice the space for the same price/performance with RAID-0 SSD's. I did not pay more then $1/GB for any except the first 2 Kingstons.

Edit: I'd stay away from OCZ. Their RAM and then their SSD's destroyed any reliance I had on them. The M4's are decent and the Samsung 830's sound very appealing though.

Now that the samsung 830 128Gb has been released for 229 with a version of Ghost and Batman...

Which SSD would people go with?

It is cheaper than the intel 510 but more than the OCZ and about even with the M4.

But samsung is supposed to have great reliability like intel...
