help with NERO and Lite-ON 24x

having problem with nero version 5.5.7.2

when i burn a 700mb file it asks if i want to close the cd rom so that it doesnt make it a multi session. whenever i choose to close cd i get a coaster.. any reasons y?

did it work ok with the previous software or is this the only software you've used with that drive?
what firmware version are you using?

no it hasnt worked well with any versions of nero..
i totally gave up on ezcd creator when i moved to winxp. i have nero and clonecd installed. for as long as i can remember i could never finalize a cd. =\


how do i check what firmware it has?

have you been to the windows update site for the burner update?

I use Nero 5.5.5.1 and I have not seen your problem (though I have only burned 3 music Cds), The strange thing is I was having your problem with my Easy CD Creator 5.0 Plat. I thought about upgradeding the Firmware for the 24x lite-on that I own, but just wasnt sure if that would help or hurt. I guess if i see your issue with my Nero then ill flash the firmware for the drive and see what happens. On a side note I did format my hard drive this weekend after fighting with my copy of Easy coaster creator.

ive been at the windows update everyday for the last week, nothing new.. =\ i'll keep fidgin with this thing, thanks for your help guys!
