help with NEC 20wmgx2

I recently purchased and set up the NEC Multisync 20WMGX2. It is a great looking monitor. However, when I look closely at the screen, there appears to be streaks of light going across it - almost like the appearance of snow or rain. I am only using the monitor with my PC. I have triple checked all the connections (DVI signal cable) and the problem persists. I have not touched any of the monitor settings and it is set to standard/initial factory settings. There is no TV or cable hookup, and I am unable to find any reference to this issue in troubleshooting part of the owner's manual. I am hoping that this problem is related to my lack of experience with LCDs. If it helps my os is vista and my video card is an nvidia geforce 6150 se. Any assistance is greatly appreciated. Thanks, Steve

I think you're seeing the screen door effect. It occurs on all LCDs to some degree, but is more prominent on IPS screens (this is one drawback of IPSs even though they're still the best type of panels overall).

I have this problem when reading posts on this forum. Gaming though is fine, I never notice it. Haven't decided yet if I am going to sell my new NEC lcd monitor or not yet.
