Help with name pronunciation

The last name of the guy interviewing me is Joanisse, I'd like to know how to correctly pronounce it before going into the interview. Anybody have any clue?

Well we've been in contact for a few days now, but I've never heard him say it verbally. I'm definitely not going to attempt it without hearing him say it first, or without feeling positive that I'm right.

Just ask. If he gives it a second thought, and he is probably so used to people asking that he won't, he'll know you wanted to be sure you got it right.

why make up the reason? just ask him how to pronounce it when you go in for the interview. it's not like he'll think you're a buffoon.

That's sort of what I had in my head, too, but I think it's a French name, and you know how tricky French words are...

I'm thinking I'll just ask him directly or politely ask his secretary, but I'll give him the chance to say it during introduction.

French Canadian. My money is on "zhOnEEs", but you should just ask him.
