We use Nagios to monitor our network switches. On most of our switches (mostly 2960 switches) Nagios works great. I use the "Physical Interfaces" feature to quickly narrow a problem down to a specific port.
Recently during a quarterly backup I noticed a few problems on a 2950 switch that Nagios did not detect. After Investigating further I noticed that on the 2950 switches that the "Physical Interfaces" feature is missing completely.
Is this because the 2950 does not support the "Physical Interfaces" feature?
Is it just a configuration thing?
I don't have access to configure Nagios, I can only use it to monitor our stuff but I can call and ask someone to enable a feature if such a thing is possible.
