Help with my new z-5500's

I have the optical cable running from my ps3 to the controller and when I go to select input: Optical the controller says "no digital data" even when I have my ps3 running. It works for my computer when I play music.. It plays 100% perfect surround sound...just I get no output when I am using my ps3.

Is the optical output from the PS3 lit up red?

I don't have a PS3 so I'm not sure what all the options are. Optical output enabled? Not on mute?

Just for clarification... when you said the PC worked with it, is that hooked up via analog, or did you try that with optical as well?

Audio is set to HDMI by default. You need to go into sound options and select optical (toslink) and check off the sampling rates you want to use.

I am pretty sure I got it working.. All I had to do was go to the ps3 audio settings and select it to output in digital instead of the regular rca connectors. And as far as to my computer went my realtek888 did all the work for me.. I just had to plug in the rear mid and front speaker connections. Thank you for the reply though!
