I have a Sony PCG-FX210 with Windows XP Professional loaded on it.
When I boot, it will go past the Windows XP screen (with the scrolling blue bar), and then when you would expect it to show the desktop, it just shows a blank screen. The hard drive crunches in 2 second (x3) cycles, then takes a .5s break and starts the 1 second per three 'crunches' cycle for about 10 minutes. After 10 minutes, it flashes a blue screen and immediatly reboots.
Safe mode does nothing, and trying to repair the installation with the XP CD fails.. Any suggestions other than a reformat?
