I'm running Firefox on windows vista 64bit still and something recently started happening when I am trying to stream video; the video screen freezes up sometimes unless I drag the mouse over it and then it unfreezes for a few seconds. Usually the sound will still play, but sometimes that cuts out as well. What else is affected is my pandora. I notice that the timer for the song playing freezes too. If I switch to another tab and come back the timer is updated but is still frozen. If I have a youtube video or song going, it won't freeze or stop the song if I switch tabs.

I've cleaned my hard drives, defragged them, searched for malware, and restarted my pc. Restarting it seems to help for a little bit but eventually these problems come back. Is this an Adobe flash problem or something? I'm clueless how to fix this.

I'm guessing it's Flash. Try removing the plugin and reinstalling it.

You also might have a corrupt user profile in Firefox. Try to create a new profile in Firefox and switch to it. If the problem goes away, you'll know.

Have you emptied the Firefox cache? Also, Flash has settings that can be adjusted:

Sorry for the newbie questions but any idea how to do all that? New profile and empty the user cache?

Edit** I cleared the cache and restarted my pc but that didn't work.

Yeah, this sucks. If I want to watch a video in full, I have to continually move my mouse around the playback window jus tso it won't freeze.
