What happened to my burner I do not know,BUt it all of sudden will not close the door. It seems jammed or something, and I can't even force it in all the way. It is a LITE-ON Model number LTR-32123S.

My cdrom is already pooched , and this is all I have now,I need it to install games/programs,pls help?

Damn, I haven't been to General Hardware for... years! 😀

I'll take a shot at this. Uh, since you can snag a virtually identical drive from OfficeMax for $19.00 after rebate, it's hardly worth screwing with that one. Go buy the new one, install it, then start installing your games. While you're installing those, you can pull the Lite-On apart and see if it's anything obvious. If it's still under warranty, send it back. It won't hurt anything to own that second burner.

How's that? 😀

I have opened the case to the burner and broke the seal also, wasn't thinking at the time. Any ideas on what to do about that?,,,ty

Your questions just keep gettin' tougher all the time! 😀

No choice, you'll have to fix it now. My guess is that some flimsy nylon part broke inside, and is jamming. If you can't reproduce or epoxy the broken part, it's a gonner. Surely not worth fixing when it can be replaced for $10.00!
