Hi guys, these are my system specs:

antec sx1040b case w/400Watt psu
amd xp 1800+ cpu
gigabyte 7vrxp mobo
256mb ddr corsair ram-cl2
abit gf4 ti4200 64mb
creative sblive! 5.1 soundcard (internal)
maxtor 20gig ata133 hdd (stand alone on ide-1 as master)
lite-on 32X cd-rw (master on ide-2)
asus 52x cd-rom (slave on ide-2)
3com NIC (internal) on cable connection
Netgear dsl/cable router,firewall

OS's:
windows XP home edition
windows XP pro
windows ME
windows 98/98se
windows 95
dos 6.22
----------------------------

I would like to create a multiboot system with just windows xp home and windows xp pro. I have 20Gigs of space in total and I'm wondering what would be the most effcient way to slice up the hard drive for this configuration. I figure since XP's minimum requirment is 1.3Gigs of space I could make 2 partitions consisting of 3Gigs apiece for each OS taking up a total of 6Gigs which leaves me 13Gigs in reality becuase the 20Gig is actually roughly 19.x something. I would then utilize the last 13Gigs for a shared data/program files drive between the two operating systems.

I have a few questions though. Will I have to install each application I use on both OS'es twice? or can I just install applications on the shared data/programs volume and both operating systems will recognize it? Also which OS should I install first Home Edition or Professional?

My configuration should look something like this when i'm done: C: XP Home, D: XP Pro, E: data/program files, F: Lite-On CD-RW, G: Asus CD-ROM

Tell me if I left anything out or if I don't know something I should. :)
