help with mpeg software

I have a digital camera. Im trying to make short movies but i want to save them as .mpeg or .avi files. Does anyone know any good software that i can use.
 
So you want to take your pics and put them as an avi or mpeg? I can't think of anything off hand, but there are peices of software like photoTOvcd that will put photo's with effects well enough on a cd for playing in a dvd player.

You can use any ulead video software or MGI video wave to put your pictures into the storyboards and output.

Let me try to clear it up, i want to make home movies with my digital camera. But i want to transfer them to a CD as .mpeg or .avi
 
There is alot of different software around for this sort of application. I would suggest looking here and here. When I started taking my old home movies and capturing them as avi's, i had to find a good, cheap way to encode them as mpegs. These two sites have a wealth of information.
