Help with motherboard recommendation

I'm looking for the best board that will run a Barton Athlon XP2800+, my main concern is stability but I wouldn't mind if it had the following features:

usb 2.0
firewire
onboard LAN
good onboard sound

edit- I've been reading about the ASUS A7N8X (Deluxe) and I know Asus is good. But if there's a board with reputation for stability that is over and above the norm, I could just add cards for any features it doesn't have. Thanks for any suggestions.

Given the features you listed, the Nforce2 chipset is the WAY to go.

The A7N8X is an excellent board with the most features of all the NF2 motherboards. Another, and slightly cheaper alternative to the Asus is the Epox 8RDA+. Both are probably the top 2 boards using the NF2 chipset and come highly recommended 'round here. 🙂

FYI, be sure you get the 8RDA+ if you want the onboard LAN and GOOD onboard sound. Epox also makes a 8RDA (non + version), that uses less quality sound and no onboard LAN. Still an excellent board, but not as many features...
