Help with monitor problem!

I was happy to get a Sony 22" FW-900, but after a couple months' use a problem has started.

The screen has begun to have a 'pop' sound occassionally as it switches to a very blurry appearance. After a minute or so, it pops back to normal.

Clearly something is wearing out - I'm not sure what it is or how to get it fixed.

Any ideas? Monitor repair seems difficult to find - shipping hundreds of dollars if you do find any.
 
It's also once or twice a day doing the big 'pop' and just acting like when you degauss, the screen poofs for a second and is then fine...

No one has any ideas how to fix this? I'm worried it's gonna just go bad soon.
