I wanna stretch out a song because it's too fast. I need to slow the beat down so that I can mix it with another piece for a dance piece. I'm using Soundforge and I can't figure out how to do it. I've searched the help files, but don't even know what it's called to find it. I've tried "expand, elongate, stretch" but nothing on those topics. Any Soundforge gurus in here that can help me would be appreciated! Thanks!

Yeah the pitch adjusts the speed of the song...but in turn it will make voices slower, unless you have a key adjust or something which is unlikely. If you cant figure it out i suggest u go down to Djchat.com their fourms should help u out...My bro is a dj, for this kinda stuff he usualy uses cooledit pro....

I got this from Sonic Foundry website:

Use Time Compress/Expand to turn 33 seconds of narration into a 30-second spot without altering the pitch.

I haven't yet re-installed Soundforge on my new system, but it's under some menu under the same heading.

You'll also have to know something about BPM calculation and beat-matching.
