Help with memory: 4 way interleaving - What settings does it use?

I have an MSI K7T Turbo board running generic memory at 133 bus and 4 way interleaving. It is PC100 cas 2 memory that is overclocked at 133 bus. Sisoft reports 2-3-3 settings on that bank of memory when I run in SPD or 4 way interleaving. I get good scores and am happy. I would like to buy new memory while its still cheap. I want a total of 256 mb. My current memory needed an Vio increase to 3.45v to be stable at 133mhz. Should I get a new stick of 256mb cas 2 pc133 to replace it? If I do will it run at cas 2 while in 4 way interleaving mode? If it does would it be a waste of money to but Cas 2 memory?

Or should I just buy another stick of 128 mb to add to my current mem, possibly cas 3 pc-133? I am pretty unfamiliar with the intrices of memory timings etc. Please steer me in the right direction.

Thanks,

Firstly 4way interleaving on your RAM is in reference to how your system accesses your RAM, I don't believe it is in anyway related to what CAS latency you run you memory at. Having said that, I have elcheapo Hyundai PC133RAM which runs at CAS3, and I see no discernable difference, and maybe even unstability on a KT7A m/b. I believe though you can gain around 3-5% performance. Though if you are running CAS2 RAM, by no means would I then mix it with CAS3, stick with the better RAM, just buy another stick of 128MB, rather that than the 256MB, I think the performance advantage of 4way interleave is more noticeable when using more than one DIMM slot, I read an interesting ariticle on a Apple site once, as they invented it(I thinks?)

papadoum,

Ok, thanks for the info, but does it matter that my cas2 memory is running at cas3 settings now because I am forcing the PC100 memory to run at 133. Because then if its running at cas3 now, what would another 128 cas2 stick do for me. Would that run at cas3 also? I think it would. Would it matter that I would have one stick pc100 and one stick pc133 together? Memory is still something I am not too familiar with, but at current pricing I'd like to get 128 mb more - I just want to do it in a way that makes sense. Thanks
