This is the MB that I am currently considering. I plan on buying it tomorrow afternoon when I get off of work.
I am having a hard time finding reviews about this board
Its a ASUS M3N78-VM AM2 board with the GeForce 8200 chipset.
Two questions:
Dose anyone have any experience, advice, suggestions about this or another MB that may suit me.
Would it be reasonable to expect the AM2 Deneb to work on this board?
Additional information that you can read if you want:
I want to build a compact PC that I can easily hook up to my receiver so HTPC capabilities are more important than CPU benchmarks to me.
I like the Hybrid Power feature because I may want to grab a 9800GTX or even a 260 if ever a game comes out that I want to play.
I like the 8200 IG because it is well reviewed for multimedia purposes.
I like that it has an eSATA and HDMI output on the back.
I like that its mATX.
Obviously, I like this board because of the features and not because its an AMD board.
While I agree that trying to future proof a computer is a waste of money and time I do however like to have an upgrade path in mind when I build. Basically I like knowing that if I ever find my CPU/GPU wanting that I don't have to buy a new MB to upgrade.
