hi

i'm stuck at these two problems and hope someone in here could help me with my stupidity. thanks a lot

1. Write out at least the first three nonzero terms of the Maclaurin series for f(x)=sin2x
Then find the Maclaurin series for f(x)







2. Write out at least the first terms of Taylor series for f(x)=e to the x exponent at a=5
Then fine the Taylor series representation for f(x)

sorry i couldn't make the exponent symbol in here for e so hope this won't confuse anybody.

Wow, I don't even know how to help you, except suggest 2 things: 1. Learn how to do a taylor and maclaurin expansion
2. Read your textbook.

I'd be surprised if there wasn't an example for something like cos2x or cos3x.

Otherwise, I'd simply be doing your homework for you.
 
sin(2x) = 2 * sin x * cos x. Take the Taylor series of each and multiply them together. Done.

You're asking the most basic examples of Taylor and Maclauren series because these are the given formulas in any book and you only need modify what they have given you. Read the chapter in your book and you will clearly see how it is done.

This one is a decent starter example Text. Just google Taylor series or Maclaurin and you'll find tons of hits explaning it all.
