Ok, I don't know why but i keep getting installaiton errors:
libxfree86-4.3-30mdk.i586
libxml2-2.6.6-1mdk.i586
esound-o.2.32-3mdk.i586

so far are missing and there are errors

It also freezes during the installation of the first ISO cd of the 3.

I don't know why this is...

Comp specs are AMD 1000+
A7Pro Motherboard
2x256 mb SDRam PC133
ATI Radeon 7000
HP cd-rw
Maxtor 80 gb/5400 rpm

Its not the cd's, or the cd drive, cuz i tried 4 diff CD drives to finally get it to read. And the CD's, well there are like 4 burnt copies of one ISO...I doubt its the IDE Cable, cuz i tried 3...I've tried kernel 2.4 and 2.6

Please someone help me install Mandrake 10.0 !!!

I'm suspecting its the Hard Drive...that is corrupted, because i tried installing windows xp pro and it also had errors installing...

Or what about the cdrom?

If two OSes aren't working it suggests it's the hardware.

(Does mandrake have a disc-checking utility in the installation routine?)

not the cd drive. Because the first one i tried didnt read correctly, or so i believe. Second didnt work, third didnt read because it was out dated, and last read it perfectly... so its not the cd drive

I'd def try a new HDD. Mandrake 10 installed for like cake. 1 hour and it was all set up, on the network and dual booting with no problems.

because i decided to try to take out one ram stick and test only one of them out. And the first one i tried kept reading errors on bootup. The second one ran fine with no errors during installation. It now only freezes when I get near the end of installation...Gotta figure it out...unless any of u have any pointers...
