So the rear right works fine?

Have you tried the rear left in a different outlet?

Return them and get z-5500s?

As [not tryin to spell yer name] said, swapping the rear channels will show up the fault.
If the left rear starts working it's the speaker.
If the left rear still doesn't work but the right rear works still it's the main unit.
If either they both work or niether of them work it gets a bit trickier :(

I figured there might be a problem with the amp built into the left rear speaker or there was an issue with the outlet you were plugging into.

I haven't seen z-5450s, is the LED you're talking about on the speaker itself to indicate that its own amp is turned on?

If it's the amp that wont turn on, I guess it's pretty clear cut that it's the problem.

Logitech e-mail customer support is pretty darn good. You should send them an e-mail.

Any reason you chose the 5450s over the 5500s?

I never really understood what the big appeal of them was since you have to plug in the rear speakers vs. just running speaker wire from the more capable and less expensive 5500 set.

well the 5500's have a remote too ;)

Sounds to me like the rear left speaker is defective.

I guess I don't see the big deal between two small gauge speaker wires and two power cords for the amps.

I guess you should have seen my dorm for wiring ;)

EDIT: Sorry, I just have a thing against the Logitech z-5450s because they seem to draw people in with a couple "features" that I think most people don't really understand - wireless and digital sound.
