I just bought Sacrifice last night. This is the first real-time strategy that I've played, and I like it a lot, but I'm getting random video lockups. Sometimes it happens after just a few minutes and other times it happens after like 20 or 30 minutes. The video will lock up and I can't even move the mouse cursor, but the music keeps playing. I can't CTRL-ALT-DEL out of it, so my only option is to hit the reset button. I've tried disabling fast writes and that's not helping. I've also tried both the "Direct3D T&L HAL" and the "Direct3D HAL" option at the startup of the game which hasn't helped either. I'm guessing that since I'm using a nVidia Geforce2 Pro that I should be using the T&L option. I also thought that maybe another program was crashing it, so I shut down all unnecessary programs in the task manager, but that didn't work. Could it possibly be caused by my overclocked processor? I'm running a PIII 700@933@1.8 volts. Should I try up'ing the voltage to 1.85. I've never had this problem with other games like UT and Quake III. Someone please help because I really want to get on with the game, but right now I can't even make it past the tutorials. My system specs are in my sig.
