Help with Lite-on burner and nero?

I have a lite on 40x burner using the latest nero. When burning a data cd via the wizard, it takes about 6+ minutes to burn about 600 MB. It actually does the initial burn in about 3 minutes or so but then the cd tray ejects all by itself, then closes. It then goes through anothe 3 minutes of Data Verification (or something similar)??
I have been burning audio for so long now and I can't recall it doing this in the past. Is this a normal behavior?
BTW I have the ide channle set to DMA and I am burning with 40x rated media.

As soon as the cd begins to burn, you'll see there is a checkbox on the status window to enable/disable data verification, and it sounds like its currently enabled. There's another checkbox for shutting down the computer when finished too.

That is normal. BTW, I have the 40125w from liteon and, after a lot of experimentation, I have to say buy good media. Don't go worse than Ritek and try to get Taiyo Yuden if you can. Most of the 40x memorex CMCs are just crap for me.
