I just got my new Optiplex GX240 computer and lite-on 40x12x48x drive. But I have no clue how to install the lite-on drive.
Help I know I need a IDE cable but what else do I need? How do I connect the power for the drive? I don't see anywhere I can connect it. Do I have to cut some wires? Do I need to buy a mounting kit? Please give as much details as possible because I have never installed a drive before.

Thank You

There are 5.25" slots you can put it in. One is probably used up. If you already have a DVD/CD-ROM drive, set the jumper on Liteon to slave, if not, set it to master. Slide the drive into the drive cage near the top of the computer and screw it in with 4 screws that came with the drive. Connect the IDE cable to the drive. If you already have a DVD/CD-ROM drive, you can use the other connector on the same IDE cable. Connect the power cable which is 4 wires: yellow, black, black, red.
