Help With Lite-On 24x CDRW Drive Problem

OK, I have the Lite-On 24x CD-Burner and just recently, it's been doing something werid (note, it did work for a couple months, this just happened all of a sudden). When I put in a blank CD, the entire system freezes, have to reboot maunally, even if I eject the CD. Running WinXP, have it "take no action" on insert of blank CD. Any ideas?
 
Sounds more like a software problem than a hardware. My guess is that it's an OS issue or your burning software; what do you use? I would try uninstalling that to see if the problem goes away.
