Help with leather chair care?

I think we are getting a nice new leather chair tonight. It's big and soft, and the kind of thing I could sleep for days in.

My question is for owners of leather furniture. Is there anything I should get to coat the chair with? Any stain guard type items you would suggest. Obviously, we are hoping the think lasts a good 10-20 years so I want to take care of it.

I doubt "soft" leather will last that long. There's a trade off between soft and comfortable, but fragile, and tough, stiff leather that wears like iron. Don't let anybody eat or drink in that chair. So much for comfort, eh?
