Help with laptop keyboard

someone told me that soaking it in rubbing alcohol and letting it try should work on fixing the sticky keys... what do yall think and what other suggestions do yall have

Take the keyboard off, and you can wash it in the sink with washing up liquid or whatever.

Leave to dry for a few days in the sun - out of the rain

A lot of places like staples sell a solution that is good to clean up things like that, its non abrasive so you dont have to worry about damaging any componants in your PC.

If you can take the kb off completely then soak it in whatever you choose.

That sticky stuff will have got everywhere.
Worse thing would be if you think it is fixed, then after having the lappy on for a few hours, something sticks........
Do it properly the first time.

run hot water through it for several minutes, the sooner the better, then allow to dry for a minimum of 24 hours. The warm air exhaust from a refrigerator is a good place. Hopefully it is clear that the keyboard must be removed from the laptop, but if I don't say it.....

laptop keyboards are pretty cheap as a second alternative.

The most important thing to do with spilled liquids is to yank the AC adapter and pull the battery out. Then keep the laptop upside down with the screen open for 24 hours. Before turning it on remove the keyboard and try to determine the extent of the liquid. Safest bet would be to return it to the manufacturer, especially if you still have a warranty.

Gotta disagree big time with that advice. This allows what ever was spilled time to completely dry and leave deposits of what ever was in the drink. Most drinks have acid in them, coke, pepsi, coffee, not good stuff for a computer. Does it have sugar in it, that will really gum up the works.

It is important to start the cleaning process BEFORE the spill sets up, and not allow it to dry.
