Help with KDE/Superkaramba

I was hoping someone can help me with updating Superkaramba. The respitories through Ubuntu does not give me the most recent version, therefore i guess I need to manually update. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks guys.

Yea, is there anything in the new versions that requires you to update? If not I would say just wait, if you start messing with 3rd party repos or worse installing things by hand you'll quickly get into management hell.

Since KDE is basically monolithic, it's actually possible to build, unlike GNOME.

I think the sources come with a unified build script, but I'll need to double check that... yep, just follow the README.

Don't go attempting to replace massive hunks of your system and confusing your package manager because you can't wait for new eye candy.

Patience grasshopper.

Right, and building a custom copy of KDE wouldn't cause any problems at all with the package manger's database.

mmmm ok. I'll take the advice not to mess with what i don't understand or what the gurus say 'no' to. =)

So...instead my next question is where do I find the eye candy stuff?!?! I'm mostly interested in a clock and weather. I tried Liquid Weather but i couldnt get it to work properly.

Once again, I just want to express my thanks to you guys who give suggestions to improve my newbieness. =)
