OK, Im putting together a dual opteron 3-terabyte raid server here using the DK8N. Everything was going smoothly until I saw their Mobo power connector - what gives?
Im using an Antec TrueControl 550.
Ok, so the regular 10x2 ATX power connector fits into one side of the 12x2 power connector on the Iwill. So I was thinking the last 4 pins were for the CPU power. Wrong.
Theres another 4x2 connector on the motherboard, where the manual says Im supposed to put the 2x2 CPU power connector. Did it, but strangely it doesnt "click" in, bc the latch for the 2x2 misses the notch to click it in. Strange. Dunno if thats right.
the motherboard manual also says [referring to the 2x2 that I left empty in the 12x2 power connector, and the remaining 2x2 in the 4x2 connector], "EPS 12V PSU Only".
Im not sure what this means... whats an EPS 12v PSU? Isnt the truecontrol basically the mofo of all PSUs anyway? I was a little dissapointed that it didnt have SATA power connectors, but its an older PSU I suppose....
