How about you buy your OS? Piracy discussions aren't allowed here.

Ok, well valid key does not always mean legal key.

So it the ISO file from Microsoft Academic Alliance? Or from some other source?

Can't I just burn the ISO file to a CD and use it as a install disk, OR no.

IF yes then do i need to burn it using a special program or method ?

THank you for your time.

PS: I like microsoft I do not make illegal coppies of their stuff

Chad you need to stop the hacker crap.

Anyway, I talked to microsoft they said that it should work fine BUT.

Because its a ISO file it will not be a bootable a disk and that i need to make a book Disk (floppy) or insert a retail cd boot off that, then when it gets to the first part of windows setup, switch the disk from the retail to the ISO.

Chad, I pay for my software, not ever one is a thief. lay off

😕

I'm not accusing you of being a thief. You say you have a valid, legal key and I believe you. An install CD can come from anywhere, however. You could download an XP ISO off of BitTorrent and use a legal key and you would have a legal install of Windows.

Some of these install CD images are not bootable, but most (all?) the CD and CD images that Microsoft provides are bootable images, so it should work just fine.

you can download Nero trial, and there is a section about bootable CD's. if you check that, you should be able to boot from it, as well as use it as an install disk

i will help you with nero there is a simple function of Burn image to Disk i did the same thing so i know what your going through just burn the image to disk and boot from it, it should work and by the way .ISO is an image file so you'll always need to burn them to disk unless its a game if its a game just get alcohol 120% and that will make a virtual drive for youso you can do it like that but thats only for games and applications
