Help with IRQs

I upgraded to an A7V socket A with Athlon at 750mhz. All worked well. After I installed winme ans Creative sb pci 512 I could not run DVD. All else was fine.The machine crashes with a FATAL EXCEPTION error My system info tells me thatI have a problem at ACPI IRQ Holder foe PCI IRQ steering. The device ID PNP is ACPI\* pnpocof\00000003. I have a conflict with either the sb or video becoder since they share the same IRQ. How do I fix it?

If one of them is in the slot below the AGP slot then move it, sometimes believe it or not SLOTS conflict. I had that problem before with my SoundBlaster Live card conflicting with my AGP slot.

Willie, go into your BIOS settings, and you may be able to disable the ACPI from using an IRQ (usually 9).

If that does not help, I would suggest taking a pen/paper and writing the information down (unless you have a good memory?) at bootup where it displays which device is using which IRQ. Generally, you don't want anything sharing IRQ's for good measure, but if you must share, then follow these guidelines that have made my life easier:
1. Allow nothing to share with the sound card.
2. Disable serial port 2. Most people don't even use it. Personally, I have #1 & #2 disabled. That will free up one (in my case two) IRQ's for the system to use elsewhere.
3. If you must share something with your video card, and also have a fairly new (10/100 PCI) network card, try to make those share.

Did you reinstall the via drivers after installing ME? As wreed said, nothing in slot 1. On my A7V, I have PNP OS set to NO. Below are my irq's. No crashes, errors etc.
