Help with Intellimouse Optical

My problem is with the wheel on the mouse. I have it set so that it scrolls down three lines at a time, but I always have to keep setting it to do that. It somehow resets to just scroll down one line at a time. It is REALLY annoying. This only happens in Win2K (actually I haven't used Win98 since I installed Win2K, but it never happened while I was using it). I reinstalled the drivers for the mouse and it still has the same problem. I would appreciate any help.

Sorry that this is not a solution for your problem but I am also having a problem with the Optical mouse. I can't get it to work under USB on Win98. It keeps on saying that no PS/2 mouse is detected and does not allow me to use the USB mouse (even though it detected it and installed the drivers/setup for it).
 
There is a support page on microsoft.com for the second problem about mouse not found. I have similar problems and what i do is to hit ok, then un plug the mouse, and re plug it in while the comp is on. Then after that the problem is gone. Do a search at microsoft.
 
C'mon, this problem is really annoying. Any help would be nice....I searched the Microsoft site for any info related to this product but couldn't find any.
