Okie this is rather frustrating as I know the NIC is new and works fine but not in my pc. I was wondering if anyone had a problem with a NIC simply not obtaining an IP from a DHCP server...the intel nic reports all 0's for my IP. If I plug the 3com back in, it will obtain the proper IP and voila Im back on the net via my cable modem. Im just wondering if there is some setting Im missing that I can't think of. Im running win98se.
thx and any help would be great.

First off I would use the latest driver from intel. Then I would check the speed/duplex settings of the NIC to make sure it was set right. You are using the same network cable, right? Maybe try a different PCI slot.

NM but thx for the response CTR
It was my sh1tty provider only allowing me to get an IP from my old mac address, underhanded jerks.

Doh! :D

That's a new "stupid move" to file under the ISP-category ... :)
